While this college football season may not have gone exactly as planned for Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes with the team finishing with just a 4-8 record in his first season with the program, he has been successful in bringing attention to the team.

During a press conference this week, Colorado athletic director Rick Georgia praised Deion Sanders for the attention and exposure that he has brought to the Colorado football program and that athletic department as a whole since becoming the team’s head coach.

“The exposure has been great,” George said according to BuffZone. “People are very interested in us. … There’s people all over the country that, it’s about football, but it’s more than football. What he’s creating and the development of young men and all of those kinds of things are really important to people.

“While football is the driver that puts you there, it’s all the other things that have been very beneficial. People see that and recognize that and I think it’s gonna allow us to have great success in the future.”

The attention has certainly been great, but it’s safe to say that Colorado will now expect on-field success to follow in the coming football seasons.
