After becoming the head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes, Deion Sanders made it very clear that he intended to push a large portion of his team into the transfer portal, and he’s done just that. And as Colorado sees players enter the portal in record numbers, their former coach is offering his scouting services.
Mike Sanford, who was the team’s offensive coordinator and interim head coach last season, posted a tweet offering college coaches “unbiased info” on any Colorado player currently in the transfer portal.
“If any Coaches want unbiased info on any of the CU players in the Portal, shoot me a DM with your number and I’ll call you,” Sanford tweeted. “I’ll shoot you straight…I have no dog in the fight!”

The implication behind the tweet is, of course, that Sanders would not provide coaches with accurate information on outgoing transfer players because he does have a “dog in the fight.”
It’s also become clear that Sanders didn’t necessarily have the outgoing players’ best interest in mind when he initially refused to allow them to share practice film with other programs once they entered the transfer portal – a policy Sanders and Colorado have since changed.
If Sanders isn’t going to advocate for his outgoing players, it sounds like Sanford will.
