Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders and athletic director Rick George Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

Pro Football Hall of Fame defensive back Deion Sanders has already exceeded expectations during his time leading the Colorado Buffaloes, and it seems like he may be adding a very high-profile name to his coaching staff next year: fellow Hall of Famer Warren Sapp.

During a recent appearance on the Rich Eisen Show, Warren Sapp revealed that he wants to join Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes next year and help coach the team.

“I want to be there next year,” Sapp said according to On3. “I want to be there next year. I’m gonna get everything, the paperwork to work and I’m gonna go to work. Because sitting on my couch …It’s time to go get this degree and then we’re going to go teach these kids … I know something about this game. When you have a quarterback like Shedeur and my D-line go hunt the other quarterback our chances of winning just went through the roof.”

It’s unclear what Sapp’s role with the team would be, but it sounds like he’d be willing to take any role that Sanders is willing to give him. And given that Sanders is a Hall of Fame player who broke into coaching himself, it could be a perfect match.
