Ohio State got itself yet another five-star recruit on Tuesday, landing a verbal commitment from Buford (Ga.) High defensive lineman Eddrick Houston.

Houston reportedly chose OSU over offers from Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, USC, and many others.

The 6’4″, 275-pounder is now the fourth five-star recruit to commit to Ryan Day’s program for 2024. He joins defensive lineman Justin Scott and receivers Jeremiah Smith and Mylan Graham. The Buckeyes also have two other Top-50 prospect commitments from cornerback Aaron Scott and quarterback Air Noland.

With that commitment, 247Sports has put Ohio State at No. 2 nationally in their 2024 recruiting rankings behind only Georgia.

“In addition to the terrific frame and versatility Houston brings to the point of attack, it’s the relentless style and hustle plays he makes on film that make him one of the special prospects in the 2024 class,” wrote 247Sports’ Steve Wiltfong. “Houston is quick, uses his hands well (a terrific wrestler that plays with great leverage), is strong, has change of direction ability to that motor, a player that should help control the line of scrimmage for the Buckeyes for years to come.”

The rich always get richer in the world of college football and it looks like Ryan Day will have all the tools he needs to finally get over the hump and win a national title over the next few years.
