The 2023 College Football Playoff national title game will not include any SEC teams for the first time since the inaugural CFP championship matchup between the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Oregon Ducks. But the latest betting odds suggest that the SEC will be positioned well to return to the top of college football next season.

According to the latest odds from SportsBetting.ag, the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Georgia Bulldogs are tied with the best odds to win the 2024 College Football Playoff national title with both teams listed at +500 odds.

And it’s not just the Bulldogs and Crimson Tide who are expected to contend out of the SEC – the Texas Longhorns, LSU Tigers and the Ole Miss Rebels each have top-eight odds to claim next season’s national title at +900, +1200 and +1400 respectively.

Meanwhile, the Big Ten will be well-positioned to earn college football’s top crown in 2024 as well with the Ohio State Buckeyes holding the third-best odds as they are listed at +700 to win the national title next season while the Michigan Wolverines are listed at +1000 and the Oregon Ducks are not far behind at +1200.

Obviously, this season is not even officially concluded yet as the title game is still slated for Monday, but it’s never too early to start looking at next season.
