The 2023 college football season is not officially over yet as the Michigan Wolverines and the Washington Huskies will face off on Monday in the College Football Playoff national championship game to determine this season’s champion. But that’s not stopping fans, media, and sportsbooks from taking an early look at next season, as well.
This week, SportsBetting.ag released odds for next season’s College Football Playoff national championship game, and the names at the top are not exactly a surprise to anyone who has followed college football over the past couple of decades.
The Georgia Bulldogs have the best odds to win the 2024-25 College Football Playoff national championship at +400. The Bulldogs are followed not far behind by the Alabama Crimson Tide with the second-best odds at +550. Behind Alabama is the Ohio State Buckeyes rounding out the top three with + 750 odds to win next season’s national championship.
The Texas Longhorns are the only other team with better than +1000 odds to claim next season’s championship, opening with +900 odds.
Of course, the College Football Playoff will look a little different next season as next year will be the first year a 12-team playoff determines the sport’s national champion. We’ll have to see who comes out on time.
