Five people have been charged with misdemeanors after making threats toward Colorado State safety Henry Blackburn.

Blackburn had a late hit on Colorado’s star Travis Hunter Sept. 16.

Hunter ultimately suffered a lacerated liver which turned into an uproar where Blackburn received over 7,000 threats on social media because of the hit.

“It is common for emotions to run high during sporting events,” Fort Collins Police Chief Jeff Swoboda said in a statement, via Fox. “However, making threats to the physical safety of a person will not be tolerated and will be investigated fully by FCPS.”

Four of the individuals being charged are juveniles, one is an adult.

Law enforcement didn’t release details of the charges due to those included being underage.

Hunter missed three games with the injury, but the two-way player returned to action in a big way.

Upon his medical clearance, he picked up a first down on third and long against the Stanford Cardinals and eventually turned that into a spin move touchdown, because of course he did.

The Buffaloes finished their seasons under head coach Deion Sanders with a 4-8 record, but Hunter made it clear next season will be the season.

“Expectation for next year, just go out and ball. Trying to become the highest draft pick I can. Trying to win something with my team and get the National Championship,” Hunter said on his podcast, 12 Talks. “Just trying to get everything we didn’t get this year. If you’re fans of us, stay with us, we got y’all.”
