During this weekend’s win over the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, the Penn State Nittany Lions had a pretty concerning injury to quarterback Drew Allar that knocked him out of the game. But James Franklin doesn’t seem to think the injury will keep him out for all that long.

During his postgame press conference, James Franklin was not willing to talk much about the injury to Drew Allar, but he did reveal that he doesn’t think that the injury is “significant.”

“As you guys know, I guess you have to ask — at least that’s what you guys tell me, but I’m not going to get into the medical stuff,” Franklin said after the game according to On3. “First of all, that wouldn’t be appropriate for Drew and that wouldn’t be appropriate for his family. But I don’t see this being significant. But we will see. It’s very hard for me to answer that question even if I wanted to a couple hours after it happened.”

With Allar out, the Penn State offense changed under backup quarterback Beau Pribula as he ran eight times for 71 yards. Pribula attempted just one pass in the game – a dump-off pass that went for just nine yards.

We’ll have to see if Allar will be able to play this week.
