The Michigan Wolverines are no stranger to the College Football Playoff as they make their third consecutive appearance, but they have yet to win a single game in the playoff. But quarterback J.J. McCarthy thinks that those previous losses have helped Michigan as they prepare for this year’s postseason.

During a recent press conference, J.J. McCarthy revealed that he thinks the team has learned from some of its mistakes in preparation from the last two times the team made the College Football Playoff.

“I think that the last couple of years I felt like we fell victim to paralysis by over analysis,” McCarthy said according to On3. “And you know, just kind of getting over detailed with too many things and overthinking things. I feel like the first couple of weeks we really just took things kind of like, easing into things and you know, it’s been kind of fresh every single day. So, yeah, I think that’s gonna make the biggest difference, keeping the balance.”

Last season, Michigan lost to the TCU Horned Frogs by a score of 51 to 45. The previous year, they lost to the Georgia Bulldogs by a score of 34-11. We’ll have to see how they fare against the Alabama Crimson Tide this year.
