In an era where college football teams are moving to high-powered and high-scoring offenses and coaches are going for it on fourth down more often than ever, it’s rare that a punter makes any sort of highlight reel. But Toledo Rockets punter Jonathon Batzke turned some heads with an absolute blast of a punt during Saturday afternoon’s game against the Buffalo Bulls.
With his team backed up inside its own 10-yard line, the Rockets called upon Batzke to shift the field with a punt, and he certainly did just that. Batzke absolutely blasted the punt and it sailed all the way down the field over the head of the Buffalo Bulls punt return man. The ball hit the ground and continued to roll all the way to the other end zone, totaling 91 yards in distance.
Toledo punter Jonathon Batzke just kicked this ball from his own end zone for a touchback.

It was an amazing punt and might have been the highlight of the game for the Rockets, and the college football world had plenty to say about it on Twitter.

The only downside to the incredibly long punt was that since the ball rolled into the end zone for a touchback, it the Bulls began the following drive on their own 20-yard line. Still, it was an undeniably impressive punt.
