The Georgia Bulldogs had a close call during Saturday afternoon’s rivalry showdown against the Auburn Tigers, narrowly winning by a score of 27-20 thanks to a late touchdown drive. And after the game, Georgia Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart praised his team for the way they handled the tight game.

During his postgame press conference, Kirby Smart expressed how proud he was of the win, making it clear that he thinks it’s hard to win on the road in the SEC, regardless of your opponent.

“Composure mission. It’s what it was: Composure mission. This team had not been on the road. This young man had not played in this environment,” Smart said, gesturing to Beck standing to his left, according to On3. “And we tried to help them. When you turn the ball over, you help people. We just kept fighting and kept bumping. I was proud of them. When you win on the road in the SEC, I don’t care who it is or where it is, it’s hard to do.”

It may not have been a pretty game, but at the end of the day, the Bulldogs did enough to beat their rival on the road and maintain their undefeated record.
