The USC Trojans are taking on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Saturday night. And while USC head coach Lincoln Riley obviously wants to go into South Bend and come out with a win for his team, it sounds like he’s also going to try to enjoy the historic environment.
During an appearance on Fox’s Big Noon Kickoff pregame show on Saturday, Lincoln Riley had a clear message for Notre Dame, making it clear that he thinks it’s a “special” venue to play a college football game and wants to make sure to “take it all in.”
“Certainly when you get there, you get a chance to take it all in. We’re human, too, obviously and this is special,” Riley said Saturday morning on Big Noon Kickoff according to On3. “One of the things that I told myself when I took this job was that I’m going to do a better job of appreciating the opportunities we get to come and play inside such special venues and get to play in special rivalries.
“We’ll take it in for a quick second, and be appreciative that we get to play in this great, historic game before getting locked in a getting ready to go.”
Even though Notre Dame will be Riley’s opponent on Saturday night, it’s clear that he has a lot of respect for Notre Dame.
