Mark Richt and Mike Norvell

Mark Richt might no longer be strolling the college football sidelines, but the former head coach still holds onto some grudges that he’d love to see dealt with.

Following Florida State’s 38-3 dismantling of Syracuse on Sunday to move to 7-3 on the season, head coach Mike Norvell joined the ACC Network broadcast crew to discuss the game and what’s next for the Seminoles. Richt had a special request for the third-year FSU coach about an upcoming game against a certain opponent.

“Coach, I played at Miami, I coached at Florida State, I coached at Georgia and then I coached at Miami. I know you don’t play them this week but I know who you play at the end of the season,” Richt said. “Can you do me a favor and kick the Gators’ *ss? Can you just do me that favor?”

Ever the head coach, Norvell noted that FSU has a game before that one, hosting Louisiana next week before they take on the Gators during Thanksgiving weekend. But it sure sounds like the FSU coach has his team thinking about how they can keep winning, regardless of who they play.

Norvell might be 15-16 overall in three seasons at Florida State, but he’s got the program back on track and currently ranked, with the assumption that they’ll move up in the rankings once more this week.
