The aftermath of the shocking Michigan-Michigan State fight over the weekend reached another critical point Tuesday. After four players were suspended indefinitely earlier in the week, the Michigan State program announced Tuesday that four more players now must serve indefinite suspensions.

“We are suspending student-athletes Malcolm Jones, Justin White, Jacoby Windmon, and Brandon Wright,” the program announced in a joint press release from VP and AD Alan Haller and head coach Mel Tucker.

The suspensions come following the shocking incident on Saturday night. The Spartans lost 29-7 to rival and fourth-ranked Michigan Wolverines, who improved to 8-0 on the season. A group of Spartans appeared to jump defensive backs Ja’Den McBurrows and Germon Green in the video, which went viral on Saturday night after the game.

A new video uncovered Monday courtesy of ESPN suggested that these suspensions were coming. The video almost certainly implicated Windmon, who was seen being heavily involved. The ruling comes while an investigation with law enforcement and the Big Ten Conference continues, so more penalties may still lie ahead.

The number of indefinite suspensions now swelled up to eight. The Michigan State program faces quite a lot of issues ahead of them. Certainly, they aren’t wasting any time issuing these suspensions.
