The 2024 college football season just wrapped up on Monday with the Michigan Wolverines winning the College Football Playoff national championship over the Washington Huskies, but it’s never too early to start looking toward some of the biggest games this season, including college football’s top rivalry game between the Ohio State Buckeyes and the new defending national champions.
While the Michigan Wolverines have won three consecutive games against the Buckeyes and Ohio State has not seen a victory in the game since the 2019 season, it sounds like oddsmakers are giving Ohio State an early edge in the rivalry showdown next season.
This week, FanDuel released several early odds for some of college football’s biggest games of next season. And several months ahead of the Nov. 30 matchup between the Buckeyes and the Wolverines, the sportsbook’s oddsmakers have Ohio State as a 3.5-point favorite over Michigan with the game total set at 49.5. The game’s moneylines give Ohio State -170 odds to win the game straight up while Michigan is a +140 underdog.
Obviously, a lot can change in the next several months as both teams go through the offseason, make staffing and roster changes, and go through the entire regular season, but it’s an interesting early look at how oddsmakers see that game playing out.
