The Michigan Wolverines just capped off their first national championship in over 20 years with a College Football Playoff national title game win over the Washington Huskies. The title comes on the heels of a third consecutive Big Ten title and a third straight win over their archrival Ohio State Buckeyes. But based on the latest betting odds, it sounds like oddsmakers are expecting a little bit of a changing-of-the-guard next season.
This week, FanDuel released some very early odds on several of college football’s top games of the 2024 season including next year’s rivalry showdown between the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Michigan Wolverines. And even though Michigan will be the defending national champions and have beaten Ohio State each of the past three seasons, oddsmakers are giving the Buckeyes the edge in this game.
FanDuel lists Ohio State as a 3.5-point favorite over Michigan in next year’s game, with Ohio State given -170 odds to win the game straight up while Michigan has +140 underdog odds to win the game straight up.
These were pretty shocking odds to most people, and there were a lot of reactions to it on social media as a result.

Obviously, a lot can change before this game is ultimately played with coaching changes and roster changes. So we’ll have to see who is the favorite come November.
