The Colorado Buffaloes have been put on the map in record time thanks to first-year head coach Deion Sanders. And it seems like Sanders’ impact has directly led to an influx of top recruits now being interested in the program, landing a top-quarterback prospect on Friday.
Sanders has shown in the past that he can develop top prospects extremely quickly. Colorado sophomore dual-threat star Travis Hunter, who was notably a five-star prospect at the top of his recruiting class, is a perfect example of just that.
2025 quarterback prospect Antwann Hill Jr. isn’t quite as highly touted at his position as Hunter was. But he is amongst the best quarterback prospects in his recruiting class, coming in as the No. 6 quarterback in 2025, according to 247 Sports.
According to Hayes Fawcett of On3 Sports, Hill Jr. committed to Colorado on Friday. Other teams in consideration for Hill Jr. were Florida, Penn State, and Alabama.

This is a huge get for Colorado for a number of reasons. There have already been questions regarding whether current quarterback Shedeur Sanders will declare for the NFL draft this offseason.
It’s very possible that he will return to college next year with his father as the head coach. However, if he were to leave, the program now has a high-profile quarterback prospect that could replace him.
