The UCLA Bruins will play the rival USC Trojans on Saturday afternoon. It could be a significant one at the Coliseum as Southern Cal quarterback Caleb Williams will likely play his final game at the historic venue. UCLA head coach Chip Kelly is on the hot seat, so this could be his final go-around for the Victory Bell. As it relates to UCLA, the Bruins quarterback situation appears to be resolved.

ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported on Saturday morning that quarterback Ethan Garbers is expected to assume the starting role again.

“Source: UCLA quarterback Ethan Garbers is back for UCLA and will start against USC. He didn’t play against Arizona State last week and was available in an emergency role,” Thamel said.

Thamel posted the update on the QB situation on X, the website formerly known as Twitter.

Garbers, who originally attended the University of Washington, attended UCLA from 2021-2023. Garbers has played in eight games this season, throwing for 786 yards, six touchdowns, and three interceptions on 94 attempts.

Freshman Dante Moore hasn’t appeared since the Bruins’ loss to Arizona on November 4. He’s only thrown 12 passing attempts since October 21, having then come in and gone 4-for-5 in a 42-7 win over Stanford. So, whatever the reason is, we won’t see Moore start the game for the Bruins against the Trojans.

We’ll see how this crucial decision affects the game.
