The Vanderbilt Commodores have not had a great season, coming into Saturday’s game against the Auburn Tigers with a 2-7 record. They had their homecoming game on Saturday, and plenty of college football fans watching the game took notice of the less-than-stellar turnout for the game.
Auburn beat writer Nathan King posted a picture of the crowd just ten minutes before the game kicked off, which showed a ton of empty seats on the Vanderbilt side of the field.
The Auburn Tigers have amongst the most passionate fanbase in all of college football. And their section in comparison to Vanderbilt’s in the picture is night and day.

It’s not exactly shocking that Vanderbilt’s crowd isn’t all that great considering the team hasn’t given fans all that much to be excited about on the field.
Regardless, fans took notice of this picture of the crowd and blasted the fans for not at least showing up for their homecoming game.
Looks like a UAB home game.

Vanderbilt has been considered a basement dweller in SEC football for quite some time.
And with all the talks of conference realignment in college football at the moment, it sure seems like they are the team that doesn’t belong with the rest of the juggernaut football programs in the conference.
The Commodores would yet again disappoint the fans who were in attendance, going on to lose to Auburn 31-15, which is their eighth consecutive loss this season after a 2-0 start in non-conference play.
