Continuing a theme of the past 72 hours, the Washington Huskies have lost another player to the transfer portal.
After head coach Kalen DeBoer took the Alabama Crimson Tide job Friday afternoon, there has been a mass exodus of Washington players, commits, and coaches.
Sunday afternoon, it continued as true freshman quarterback Austin Mack announced he would be entering the transfer portal. On3’s Hayes Fawcett had the news first. Mack will have four years of eligibility remaining.

Mack shared the following message with On3, “Husky Nation, This past year has taught me valuable life lessons that I will hold onto forever. I would like to say thank you for taking my family and I in and showing us more love and affection than I could’ve ever asked for. I am eternally grateful for what the University of Washington has provided me. After many talks with my family, I believe I must do what’s best and enter my name into the transfer portal.”
Mack, originally from Folsom, CA, redshirted for the Huskies this season but was expected to factor into the team’s quarterback plans going forward. He originally committed to Washington last February, choosing the Huskies over the Oregon Ducks, California Golden Bears, Nevada Wolf Pack, Colorado Buffaloes, Colorado State Rams, and Washington State Cougars.
