The Denver Broncos will presumably be looking for a new starting quarterback this offseason after benching previous starting quarterback Russell Wilson for the following two games of the season. But it sounds like Jarrett Stidham, who served as the team’s backup this season, thinks he could be that guy.

Jarrett Stidham took over as the starting quarterback for the Denver Broncos for the team’s last two games of the season after head coach Sean Payton decided to bench Russell Wilson. Based on the way he performed in those games, Stidham believes that he could be the full-time starter for the team next season.

“I’m very confident I can be the guy for us next season. I have no doubts about that,” Stidham said on Monday according to Nick Kosmider of The Athletic. “I’ll be back in April ready to rock. I’m excited for the opportunity.”

In his two games starting this season, the Denver Broncos completed 60.6 percent of his throws for 496 yards with two touchdowns and an interception while leading the team to a 1-1 record.

We’ll have to see whether the team decides to go through next season with him as the starter or bring in a new quarterback to replace Wilson.
