This week, former United States President Donald Trump will be hosting the Saudi-backed LIV Golf tour for the league’s tournament at the Trump National Golf Club in Washington, DC. This marks the first of three LIV Golf events that the former president will host at one of his golf courses, and he thinks there is a reason why the tour is using his courses: they’re the best.

On Thursday, Donald Trump participated in the pro-am ahead of this week’s tournament alongside Eric Trump, Patrick Reed and Bob Koepka at the course. While out on the course, Trump answered some questions from reporters and made it very clear that he thinks that LIV Golf likes to use his golf course “because they’re the best courses.”

“I think I have the best courses. It’s the best course in the tri-state area. It’s the best course. It’s not even a contest,” Trump said according to USA Today. “I think it’s one of the best properties anywhere in the world. You have the Potomac River. Not just any river. You have the Potomac River. There’s no other golf course that can be on the Potomac. And certainly no other golf course like this.”

LIV Golf also recently expressed interest in holding future events at a Trump-owned golf course in Europe – potentially his course at Doonbeg.
