Justin Thomas did not win the 2023 U.S. Open, nor did Max Homa. Neither man was in contention at The Los Angeles Country Club on Sunday. In fact, neither man even played the weekend, with both missing the cut.

But they did find a way to be entertaining. And as is so often the case, the entertainment started with a bottle of wine. Rosé to be more specific.

Thomas and Homa got together to watch Sunday’s Final Round. And as the leaders were getting going into their rounds on Sunday, Thomas took to Twitter to share an idea.

“Myself and @maxhoma23 are on our 2nd glass of rose and debating going Instagram live to share our thoughts on the golf,” he tweeted.

By definition, a popular idea is one that more than half of the people hearing it support. This idea was so much more than that.

And based on the preview Thomas tweeted, we have to agree. This idea is a pure winner.

Perhaps in the future, different golf tournaments can set up an alternate broadcast featuring a pair of tipsy golfers commenting on the final round.

That feels like a can’t miss.
