There has not been much movement as of late between LIV Golf and the PGA Tour. However, according to LIV star Phil Mickelson, that may change very soon.
Spanish golfer Jon Rahm has been amongst the best golfers in the world for quite some time now. He is famously a two-time major champion, including a 2023 Masters victory.
Rahm has also been one of the loyalists to the PGA Tour amongst many leaving for LIV Golf in 2022. But according to Mickelson, that may be changing shortly.
According to longtime golf reporter Alan Shipnuck, Mickelson has been spreading the word that it is a “done deal” that Rahm is signing with LIV Golf.
In recent days Phil has been telling folks that Rahm signing with LIV is a done deal. (They share the same agent.) But we all know Mickelson is a relentless salesman/bullshit artist, so take that for what it's worth.

It would certainly be a bit of a surprise if this were true. Rahm has remained pretty adamant that he is not in favor of LIV’s no-cut format, stating that it is “not appealing to him”. He even stated that his “heart is with the PGA Tour”.
That being said, Mickelson has a ton of history with Rahm, so he likely wouldn’t be lying about him. Mickelson’s brother, Tim Mickelson even coached him at Arizona State during his collegiate playing days, and then became his agent for a short time after Rahm turned pro.
It would be a pretty monumental move if Rahm did opt to leave for LIV Golf, especially because the LIV-PGA Tour merger has essentially been put on pause.
There has yet to be any announcement from Rahm on these rumors. But he will likely at least address this sometime in the near future, which will certainly be interesting, to say the least.
