Tiger Woods made a huge decision about his game.

Woods will change out his golf ball for a new one for the first time in 20 years. Jonathan Wall of Golf.com reported the news Thursday morning that Woods will play with the Bridgestone Golf Tour B X ball. Woods, according to the report, will first use the ball in The Match on December 10.

Wall tweeted, “For more than 20 years, Tiger Woods has played a spinner golf ball. But that’s about to change — for at least two weeks. Why he’s giving Bridgestone Golf Tour B X a shot, starting with The Match.”

The report from Wall on Golf.com read, “It’s a golf ball recipe that’s served Woods well for more than two decades, but according to Bridgestone Golf, all signs point to the 15-time major winner altering the recipe and switching away from the Tour B XS and into the Tour B X for at least The Match and PNC Championship.”

The report cited the exhibition situations in The Match as a factor for why Tiger has made the change. It also stated that the legend noticed a marked difference in a simulator. It read, “Woods began testing the Tour B X on his at-home simulator and noticed an uptick of nearly 10 yards of additional carry, which amounts to roughly one less club into the hole on approach shots.”

Wall’s report also stated that they will work to get the iconic Tiger stamp on the ball too. Because of course.
