It’s no secret that Tiger Woods has been struggling with his health lately, which has led to the golf legend sitting out many events in recent years. But according to his good friend Notah Begay III, Tiger won’t be missing The Masters.

In an interview with reporters on Wednesday, Begay was asked about his friends’ health. During the interview, he revealed that while Woods does have very real health concerns, he will still be at The Masters “for sure.”

“I know that if you just look at the metrics that are related to his golf swing in terms of clubhead speed, ball speed, his ability to execute golf shots, it’s still all there,” Begay said in a video shared by Brent Martineau. “Now, walking 72 holes in a competitive environment, that’s the big question mark. But if he finds a way – and if anybody will, it will be him – to be able to deal with the 72-hole walk. The golf’s not the question to me, the heart’s not the question, it’s just a matter of physically can he endure that much stress on the leg.”

Begay said that because of Woods’ physical limitations, a flatter course might be better for the golf legend. But that doesn’t mean he won’t be competing at Augusta National next year.

“I think all of us would walk on a hurt leg at Augusta,” Begay said. “So, he’ll be there for sure.”

It’s still a long way until next year’s edition of The Masters, but it looks like we can tentatively include Tiger Woods in the field.
