Legendary NFL quarterback Tom Brady has not been out of the league for all that long, but he’s already becoming a bit critical of how the game has changed since he was in his prime.

During an appearance on Stephen A. Smith’s radio show this week, Tom Brady had a pretty brutal assessment of the NFL, saying that he sees “a lot of mediocrity” in the game today.

“I think there’s a lot of mediocrity in today’s NFL. I don’t see the excellence that I saw in the past,” Brady said. “I think the coaching isn’t as good as it was, the development of young players isn’t as good as it was. The rules have allowed a lot of bad habits to get into the actual performance of the game. So I just think the product in my opinion is less is less than what it’s been.”

It’s a pretty brutal assessment of the league from Tom Brady and it quickly went absolutely viral throughout the NFL world as people offered their reactions to his message.

It’s clear that Brady’s message resonated with many fans of the game. We’ll have to see if he could perhaps instill any sort of change in the league.
