Kansas City Royals left fielder Alex Gordon is a four-time Gold Glove winner, and he gave an example why on Thursday night at Kauffman Stadium.

Watch Gordon run 122 feet (per Statcast) to rob Detroit Tigers slugger Justin Upton of extra bases:

What an incredible play, and what a perfect reminder of how damn big that outfield is at Kauffman Stadium. That’s why the Royals having the best defensive outfield in baseball is so key.

The reactions to that play were fantastic as well. Like from Royals starting pitcher Edinson Volquez (who called the catch “One of the best plays [he’s] ever seen“):

It would seem that Gordon is going to make a pretty good run at a fifth Gold Glove award.
