Atlanta Braves star pitcher Spencer Strider took the mound on Tuesday against the Los Angeles Angels, and broke a record in another dominant outing in what has been a great season for him.

Strider has shown off an uncanny ability to record strikeouts at an amazing clip all season. He came into Tuesday’s game recording at least ten strikeouts in each of his last four games.

His matchup against Los Angeles wasn’t quite as good, but it was still a very productive start, recording nine strikeouts through 6.2 innings while only allowing one earned run.

Strider broke onto the stage in the MLB last year, where he became the fastest pitcher to reach 200 strikeouts in a season. His first strikeout of the game on Tuesday came against Angels star Shohei Ohtani, which actually broke the 200 strikeouts mark that he set last season.

Recording 200 strikouts in only 123 innings of work is certainly pretty incredible, and fans took to social media to react to the incredible new record.

Strider has been a huge part of the Braves success this season, which has them seated with the best record in baseball. And this kind of record-breaking performance this season shows that Strider has the sheer ability to be one of the best pitchers in baseball for the foreseeable future.
