Toronto Blue Jays pitching coach Pete Walker was ejected in the second inning of Tuesday’s game against the San Diego Padres by plate umpire Malachi Moore.

The way it went down seemed pretty petty.

Both Walker and Blue Jays manager John Schneider did not seem happy with several calls in the first inning. That included a two-strike pitch to Juan Soto that was called a ball but appeared to be a strike. Soto would go on to hit a two-run home run.

So loud was their displeasure that Moore warned the Blue Jay’s dugout two times before Walker visited the mount to speak with Alek Manoah after he walked Trent Grishman in the second inning.

Walker can be seen talking to Manoah and other Blue Jays players with his face covered when Moore approaches to warn him about taking too long at the mount. When Moore arrived, Walker continued speaking to players and did not acknowledge the umpire. Shortly thereafter, Moore ejected the coach, who was not happy to say the least.

That makes three ejections on the year for the Blue Jays and the first one for Walker.

A lot of MLB fans on Twitter thought the ejection was pretty petty, especially given some of the calls Moore had made so far.
