After the Atlanta Braves swept a doubleheader from the New York Mets on Saturday, one of Atlanta’s best players made no efforts to hide how fun it was.

The doubleheader was an absolute disaster for the Mets. How bad was it? Well, New York lost the second game of the doubleheader 6-0, and that was easily the closest game of the pair, as the Braves drubbed the Mets 21-3 in the opener.

Following the two games, Ozzie Albies, Atlanta’s three-time All-Star second baseman talked about how fun it is to beat the Mets.

“A lot of pleasure, of course, because they always say they’re going to beat us,” Albies said, per Justin Toscano, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “That’s all I can say. I won’t say much.”

Albies’ answer wasn’t a typical cliché in that it wasn’t “one game at a time” or “no game matters more than any other.” Some fans, however, did feel that it was cliché in another respect, wondering just where Albies was getting the narratives from.

Atlanta has dominated New York in 2023, moving to 8-1 on the season after Saturday’s twin-bill sweep.

So, we don’t know where Albies and the Braves are getting this motivation from or if the bulletin board material comes from an actual person. But whatever the case, the Braves have not done any sleepwalking in their games against the Mets this season.
