MLB ejection Credit: Twitter

Baseball season is upon us. This means many things, including the not-so-much-anticipated return of MLB ump shows. It might still be Spring Training, but one ejection had the entire MLB world up in arms.

Home plate umpire Randy Rosenberg decided to take the stage away from the Philadelphia Phillies and Toronto Blue Jays. Rosenberg ejected Phillies star catcher J.T. Realmuto… for a ridiculous reason.

Realmuto extended his catcher’s mitt out for Rosenberg to deliver him the ball. He held it out for a few seconds and then pulled it away as the umpire tossed it.

Rosenberg, apparently, didn’t like that. So, he ejected Realmuto from the game.

You might be shocked to learn that the ejection was not received well by MLB fans and otherwise.

Former catcher Michael McKenry tweeted, “Someone is sensitive.”

“Suspend this dork. Is he insane?” Pat Gallen of CBS 3 Philadelphia said.

“Umps constantly get away with abusing their power,” one fan tweeted.

“Looks like this ump has got a case of the Mondays,” SickosOfSummer tweeted.

“Even Angel Hernandez thinks this is bad,” Tom Vecchio tweeted.

“This is the thinnest skin I have seen in my life,” Mike Murphy tweeted.

The MLB season begins later this week. But on Monday, the biggest ump show and most ridiculous ejection of the year so far happened. It might take a lot for this one to be usurped.
