Along with hitting ridiculous home runs like crazy this season, Chicago White Sox rookie Luis Robert has provided tremendous defensive value in center field. Entering play on Saturday, Robert had been credited with eight defensive runs saved, tied for most among American League players. And Robert showed off his remarkable defensive talents during Saturday night’s game against the Kansas City Royals.

With the White Sox leading 5-3, Kansas City’s Maikel Franco appeared to have an extra-base hit to lead off the bottom of the ninth, but Robert covered a ton of ground and laid out for an amazing diving catch.

Statcast gave this a 15% catch probability, and rated it a five-star play (we would agree).

The White Sox would hang on to win 5-3, and remain in first place by one half game in a tightly packed AL Central race.
