Max Homa is really out here breaking news about the future of Jon Rahm … and Shohei Ohtani?
For legal purposes, this is satire.
The top-10 ranked golfer in the world posted some news on his X/Twitter account Saturday like a true insider.
“BREAKING NEWS: Ohtani signs with LIV. Jon Rahm signs with the Dodgers. More to come,” he wrote.

The breaking news isn’t too farfetched in a way, however.
The Dodgers, who Homa is very much a fan of, are the favorites to land two-way star Shohei Ohtani for a multitude of reasons. Ohtani loves the West Coast and truly liked the Los Angeles area where he lived for the last six seasons with the Angels. The team (along with others) would love to land one of the best to ever play the game, making history and creating an international sensation attached to baseball.
Plus, they have the monetary means to do so. It’s possible Ohtani lands at least a half a billion-dollar contract, in which he will be worth every penny. He comes off of his second AL MVP season where he slashed .304/.412/.654 with a league-leading 1.066 OPS. He also earned his third All-Star selection, a Silver Slugger Award and the coveted Edgar Martinez Outstanding Designated Hitter Award.
Rahm, on the other hand, is rumored to have been offered $600 million from LIV Golf to sign on and play for the Saudi-backed league. The numbers appear to match up.
While Rahm has until Dec. 31 to make a decision on the deal, many are hoping Ohtani’s new team makes one before that.
The winter meetings are upon us — so buckle up.
