Snoop Dogg

Snoop Dogg was one agile cameraman away from overtaking 50 Cent for the title of “Most Disastrous First Pitch Thrown by a Rapper in Recent Memory.”

The legendary Californian donned a “Coach Snoop” jersey at Petco Park on Wednesday and hurled the first pitch before the Padres took on the Braves. It didn’t go well.

Snoop’s delivery has a little Chris Sale in it, with limbs flying all over the place and something like a three-quarters release point. The results, however, were decidedly not Sale-like.

Meanwhile, great reflexes by the cameraman, who probably thought he was safe standing 20 feet from the plate but still managed to evade Snoop’s errant pitch while holding a giant camera.

Now of course Snoop’s throw was nowhere near as terrible as 50 Cent’s first pitch from 2014. 50 didn’t endanger any camera operators because he actually threw wide of all of them.

Snoop Dogg submitted a surprisingly strong performance in the 2014 NBA Celebrity All-Star Game, but apparently that’s as far as his extra-curricular athleticism goes.
