A couple weeks after getting the rights to exclusively broadcast the Arizona Bowl, it appears that Barstool might be going after Major League Baseball.
It’s being reported that Barstool and MLB are in talks for the site to stream games. It’s still early in the process as the New York Post said that they were told it was a 50-50 chance this actually happens. It’s also unknown if this would be an exclusive deal as the only real concrete details is that this would be a midweek block of games and it would have a gambling element, as MLB would align with Barstool’s sportsbook.
Nevertheless, this has gotten the sports world talking. As with most things Barstool, it has brought out a lot of support and a lot of opposition due to Barstool’s reputation.

I’d like to congratulate sports media for normalizing these assholes for various selfish reasons like “PFT Commenter is my friend” and “they gave me a shoutout once” and Major League Baseball for never seeing a quick unethical buck it wouldn’t turn down https://t.co/sSoUJVoCCW

MLB yesterday:
The N word is a terrible thing that will not be tolerated.
MLB today:
Well actually, how much money we talking here? https://t.co/v5EzAYVqaD pic.twitter.com/5EIR4jT6Lp

MLB obviously wants to grow the game among young people, but choosing to partner with Barstool is a business decision that will actively push away some of the fastest-growing fan groups watching baseball https://t.co/SM92cLwj6B

People are back pretending Barstool is anti-women when they make more women millionaires than the company THEY work for.
Tangible wealth for women > tweeting that you support women

"Hi, I'm Rob Manfred, commissioner of a league that has had to conduct multiple investigations into sexual abuse and misogyny this year and I would not like to announce our partnership with Barstool"

at a time when there’s an abundance of exciting young talent in baseball, MLB is doing everything it can to make sure its audience doesn’t grow for some reason https://t.co/D2BGlJiOAI

As someone who straddles the generational divide between people who like baseball and people who don't, I can't think of anything that will do less to expand baseball's following than this https://t.co/HRFReAGLTU
