As a self-proclaimed uniform critic, I have mixed feelings about customized jerseys for fans. The good news for Marshall Mathers (because I know he seeks my approval on such issues) is I’m willing to give him a pass for this customized Detroit Tigers uniform.

Mathers, more commonly known as Eminem, and his record label (Shady Records) are putting a specially embroidered Tigers jersey for sale to help promote the start of the new baseball season for the Detroit Tigers. The road jersey comes with the uniform number eight (naturally) and includes a backwards “E” in the name, which is a signature of Eminem’s logo.

This is not the first time Eminem and the Tigers have crossed paths for a special jersey. The Eminem X Detroit Tigers Cooperstown Collection Jersey used this same jersey design premise on a throwback Detroit road uniform last year. That was also to promote opening day. Are you noticing a trend yet? If all goes according to plan, we should probably expect a 2017 version this time a year from now, as Tigers and Eminem fans add to their jersey collection.
