The New York Yankees’ struggles have left many of their fans irate. August has arrived, but the Yankees are in last place for the first time at the start of August since 1990. The Yankees play in the toughest division in baseball, the American League East, but hardly anyone has any sympathies. Especially considering that it’s the 27-time World Series Champion Yankees. Receiving the brunt of a lot of the criticism has been manager Aaron Boone. On Tuesday, with the MLB Trade Deadline fast approaching, Boone didn’t put himself into any good graces.

“You could see everything from nothing to guys leaving to guys coming,” Boone said via The Athletic’s Chris Kirschner.

Pour one out for Captain Obvious here. Just as you might expect, people weren’t thrilled about the quote, especially since the Yankees have been inactive at the trade deadline. The struggling Yankees haven’t been buyers or sellers, and in a time where you should try to be one or the other, not doing either creates resentment. And, boy, there is a lot of resentment among Yankee fans.

Several fans took the time to tee off on the puzzling comments by Boone. There’s no doubt that there’s a lot of animosity in the Bronx right now. The Bronx isn’t burning, but it’s percolating.
