New York Yankees star first baseman Anthony Rizzo came into Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Royals in a horrible slump. He broke out of it in a big way on Sunday, and at least some credit goes to Ms. Taylor Swift.

Rizzo has had a rough July to say the least, coming into Sunday’s game hitting .131 in the month. Something clearly needed to change for him at the plate, and it may have just been as simple as changing his walk-up song.

The three-time All-Star made a change to his walk-up song ahead of the game, switching from “Intoxicated” by Martin Solveig & Good Times Ahead to “Ready For It” by Taylor Swift.

It may be a coincidence, but Rizzo had one of his best games of the season after this change, going 4-4 at the plate including his 12th home run of the season.

Rizzo discussed his excellent day and the new walk-up song after the game, further praising Taylor Swift and saying it is “her summer”.

“Taylor Swift… It’s her summer, really. She’s helping the economy in every city she goes,” said Rizzo.

Rizzo is referring to Swift’s year-long world tour that kicked off back in March, and it actually turns out that Rizzo is one of the millions that went to see her live since going on tour.

Swift’s music may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but she could gain even more fans if Rizzo continues to hit like this with his new walk-up song.
