New York Yankees top prospect Jasson Dominguez has made an impact on the club since his very first major league at-bat. And another excellent game from him on Wednesday has put him in a very rare class that only legendary Yankee Mickey Mantle is a part of.

Dominguez made his presence known right away in the MLB with a home run in his first at-bat off of future Hall of Fame pitcher Justin Verlander.

Since then, he has continued to show off the power that he has been praised for at the minor league level, hitting another home run in the Yankees series against the Astros last weekend.

He came into Wednesday’s game against the Detroit Tigers with two home runs in his first four MLB games. And he hit his first home run at Yankees Stadium that came off his bat at 110.2 miles per hour.

The Yankees fans erupted in the stands as Dominguez rounded the bases, and fans at home were singing his praises after his latest blast.

The 20-year-old sensation who has been nicknamed “The Martian” has joined an elite class in Yankees history with this latest home run. He joins Mickey Mantle as the only Yankee to ever hit three or more home runs in any five-game stretch at the age of 20 or younger.

This is far from the only accolade from Dominguez that rivals some of the best players in Yankees history. He is also the last Yankee in team history to record a hit in his first five major league games since Hideki Matsui did so in 2003.

There is obviously still plenty of time for Dominguez’s career in New York to develop. But it looks like the Yankees have a very special talent on their hands.
