Colares debuted with the UFC in 2019 after an 8-0 start to his MMA career. He fought six times with the promotion, going 2-4 before being released by the promotion in 2022.

While his UFC career didn’t end up being all that successful, it was something that he looked back fondly of. The UFC released a statement on his unfortunate passing, where it was revealed that he called his UFC career “My childhood dream come true.”

After being released by the UFC, he got his career back on track in the promotion Ares FC. He last recorded a first-round submission victory in February over Alioune Nahaye.

While MMA fans may be aware of who Colares was, other sports fans may know him better for a viral moment he was involved in that showed his amazing character as a person.

A viral video emerged in January of Colares stopping a thief from stealing someone’s phone in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. USA Today’s Nolan King reshared the video after his passing.
