The MMA Ten keeps you updated on the latest news from the world of the UFC and beyond. This week: former UFC fighter diagnosed with autism, miffed Miesha Tate mad at Rousey, Hendo and Bisping want to run it back and more!

Hendo, Bisping Both Want Rematch

Dan Henderson pulled off an amazing knockout of Hector Lombard at UFC 199. After the fight, he said he wasn’t sure if he’d fight again. But one scenario has him excited: a rematch with Michael Bisping, this time for the UFC middleweight title.

“It would definitely be my last fight for sure. Win or lose. I’m obviously confident that I would win, but win or lose I would make that my retirement fight,” Henderson said on the MMA Discussion podcast. For the uninitiated, Henderson delivered one of the best knockouts of all-time when he laid out Bisping at UFC 100. Roll tape…

Hendo is ranked #13, and there are a few guys who deserve title shots before him. But this rematch is too juicy to resist, and it would be an amazing way for Hendo to end his storied career.

Bisping told Fox Sports he wants the fight — maybe even more than Hendo. “I’ll just go out on a limb and say this right now and people can talk (expletive) all they want, but the fight that I want because he’s almost retired — I want Dan Henderson. I owe Dan Henderson one. Everybody knows that. Everybody knows why. He’s still knocking people out, he’s still looking good, but he’s going to retire soon. So I would love to get revenge on him before he retires.”

Here’s hoping this rematch goes down. There will be a storybook ending whatever the result, and just think about this: if Bisping loses, Twitter will be so much fun with Weidman and Rockhold giving him the business!

Welcome Back to Work, Champ

While Bisping waits to see if the UFC can put that fight together, he’s back at his “day job” at Fox Sports as a UFC analyst. His first day back was pretty special, as they welcomed him back in style — after he got biffed by the door.

I love how the guy exiting the building gives zero you-know-whats that it’s Bisping coming in. He’s got product to get to places, so he’s like “Hold your own damn door, Bisping.”

Cyborg: Spiderwoman

See, this is why I don’t care for gardening. Cris Cyborg was tending to her new garden when she was bit by a nasty black widow spider.

🕷🕷🕷Help! I was bit on the leg by a blackwidow spider while working in my new garden! The bite was 6 days ago, yesterday the dr gave me antibiotics and cream. My leg is in a lot of pain this morning. Do you think I should return to the Dr? Interesting fact about the black widow spider I found online: the blackwidow kills their husband when they become pregnant… Ajuda!

I love MMA fans as much as anyone, but I’m not sure asking them for medical advice is the best route to wellness here.

Good Guy Clay Guida

One of the sport’s best ambassadors is Clay Guida. Case in point: Guida was on his way to a win against Brian Ortega at UFC 199 when Ortega landed a sick knee with less than 30 seconds remaining in the fight. Guida was knocked out and Ortega got the win. You might think Guida would be all sour, but instead this happened:

Three cheers for good guy Clay Guida!

Miesha Tate Miffed Over Rousey Comments

LAS VEGAS, NV - DECEMBER 28: (R-L) Ronda Rousey punches Miesha Tate in their UFC women's bantamweight championship bout during the UFC 168 event at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on December 28, 2013 in Las Vegas, Nevada. (Photo by Donald Miralle/Zuffa LLC/Zuffa LLC via Getty Images)

You’d think Miesha Tate would love one more chance to get in the cage with Ronda Rousey. Two of Tate’s five losses have come at the hands of Rousey, and there has to be a part of her that seeks to avenge those losses. Rumors have again swirled with Tate/Rousey III talk, but this time Tate isn’t pleased as to why Rousey wants the fight.

“Some people have been saying that she’s said, ‘I’ll come back for one fight against Miesha Tate because I know that I can beat her, and then I’m retiring,'” Tate said on “The Exchange,” which is seen on UFC Fight Pass. “That she doesn’t want to fight Holly. I don’t know if that’s true or not, but I have heard that. If it is true, I find it disrespectful.”

Tate has said that she thinks Rousey will not come back the same as she was before. “I think that’s just my take on the interviews I’ve seen her do. I feel like she’s somewhere else other than fighting. I don’t feel like this is her number one drive anymore.”

These facts remain: Fans want to see it. It makes sense from a rankings/matchup standpoint. And it would make the UFC a ton of cash. Tate is now the champ. To defend her title against Rousey would be an amazing accomplishment, one that fight fans want to see.

Horribly Staged Press Conference Fight

Bob Sapp was drafted by the Chicago Bears as an offensive lineman back in 1997 and played in just one NFL game. Flaming out of the NFL was the best thing that ever happened to him. He became a huge star in pro wrestling and kickboxing in Japan, a larger-than-life figure that gets mauled by fans wherever he goes. You would think after so much time in the pro wrestling game he would be able to sell a fight, but this attempt at press conference shenanigans makes it seem like Sapp has been sapped of his desire.

My little daughter could have broken up that scrum. You might also recognize the man holding Sapp back and repeatedly cupping his breast. That is the world-famous Hong Man Choi, the opponent for Jose Canseco’s first MMA fight. Anwyay, I can’t wait to not watch that fight.

Former UFC Fighter Diagnosed with Autism — at Age 33

John “Doomsday” Howard is a heavy-handed puncher that had a long stretch in the UFC before being released and signing with the World Series of Fighting. Howard was getting all his pre-fight medical tests done when it was recommended that he have further neurological exams. The result? Howard was diagnosed with autism at age 33. In an incredible piece by Shaun Al-Shatti for MMAFighting.com, Howard describes some of the difficulties he faced as a kid.

“Growing up, I was always in Special Education classes. I always struggled with learning disabilities. But back in the day, when I was coming up in school, we didn’t have autism, ADHD, all these things that we know about now. We didn’t have the science to understand it. So if you were any kind of handicapped, or your thoughts were flawed, you were put in Special Education automatically. I went my whole childhood being in Special Education class, basically thinking that I was slow and stupid.

“It was the hardest, freakin’ scariest thing. I was getting teased every day. People would try to beat me up. It was terrible. I was being called retard. ‘How come you’re in the retarded class? You can’t talk. You’re stupid.'”

Howard makes his WSOF debut Friday night and you can watch him fight on NBCSN. I’m sure he’ll have a ton of new fans hoping he comes out victorious.

Your MMA Meme of the Week

So now that McGregor vs. Diaz II is official for UFC 202, let’s look back at that time Nate Diaz used the Cream Pie Right Hook to stun McGregor.

Somehow, McGregor is listed as the betting favorite for the rematch even though he will again be fighting way out of his weight class, and Nate Diaz will actually have a full training camp. I find this fight to be completely unnecessary, but I can’t wait to watch it.

There’s plenty for fight fans to take in this weekend, with three nationally-televised events taking place. As mentioned, you can see John Howard make his promotional debut at WSOF 31 Friday night on NBCSN. Former UFC fighters Jason High and Mike Ricci will do battle in the co-main event, and Blagoi Ivanov and Josh Copeland will fight for the WSOF heavyweight title.

Bellator 156 goes down Friday night on Spike TV, with Eduardo Dantas and Marcos Galvao fighting for the bantamweight title. Brandon Halsey makes his return to the cage for the first time since losing his middleweight title.

UFC Fight Night 89 takes place Saturday in Canada, where hometown favorite Rory MacDonald will try to work his way back to a title shot after losing to Robbie Lawler last July. He’ll take on Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson, one of the most dynamic and exciting strikers in the sport. Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone will also fight on the card and former hockey enforcer Steve Bosse will look to knock out Sean O’Connell.
