Tobias Harris, who has been the subject of rampant trade rumors in recent weeks, addressed that speculation Tuesday.

Harris spoke with NBC Sports Philadelphia, and from his comments, it’s clear he believes fans don’t think very much of him.

“Casual Sixers fans, they’ll trade me for a Crumbl Cookie,” Harris said, referring to the popular cookie brand. “At the end of the day they have to realize you’re not getting a 6-9 forward who can shoot damn near 40% from 3, guard the other team’s best player, shoot, post-up, drive, play 70-plus games a year.”

Harris, who turns 31 in July, averaged 14.7 points and 5.7 rebounds per game last season, and his 38.9% shooting from 3-point range is, as he said, “damn near” 40%. Plus, he is a big asset on the defensive end.

Harris is set to make $39 million in 2023-24, the final year of the massive $180 million deal he signed in 2019. While some fans and analysts have consistently pegged him as overpaid, it’s not Harris’ fault the 76ers offered him that contract. And he’s put up reasonable numbers for someone who is the fourth option in Philadelphia’s offense.

The forward could put up better stats somewhere else. The 76ers should get some offers for Tobias this offseason — and fans should know the other teams will be offering more than Cumbl Cookies.
