During Sunday afternoon’s NBA Western Conference first-round playoff game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Memphis Grizzlies, Lakers fans were given quite a scare toward the end of the first half when star Anthony Davis suffered what appeared to be a shoulder injury. But he got a surprisingly positive update in the locker room.
Immediately following the injury, Anthony Davis walked off the court grabbing his right arm and telling athletic trainers “I can’t feel my arm,” which was some quite concerning news for the superstar player. But after further testing, it was determined the injury was just “a stinger,” according to NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
“Lakers star Anthony Davis is believed to have sustained a stinger on his right arm, but is still undergoing testing, source tells ESPN. He hurt shoulder late in second quarter of Game 1 vs. Memphis,” Woj said in a tweet on Sunday afternoon.

It was a surprising turn of events given the level of discomfort with which Davis left the court initially, but this was obviously fantastic news for Lakers fans, many of whom understandably feared the worst given Davis’ injury history.
We’ll have to see if Davis can continue to play at his peak performance despite the injury.
