Everybody has a favorite Star Wars character. Some people prefer the humble Luke Skywalker, others like the cocky Han Solo or the evil Sith lord Darth Vader. There’s practically an endless number of choices, and they’re all right. The Brooklyn Nets thought they’d capitalize on the upcoming release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens and asked some of their players who their favorite characters were. Nets rookie Rondae Hollis-Jefferson had an interesting answer, as Tom Lorenzo of SB Nation points out.

Yes, Hollis-Jefferson’s said his favorite Star Wars character is E.T., the green little alien from the titular movie. Now, that seems like a flat out wrong answer, but there are online theory’s which suggests E.T. and Star Wars are part of the same universe, as Asogian’s (E.T.’s alien race) did appear in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace.

Directors George Lucas and Steven Spielberg made an agreement to have their characters appear in each others’ film, as E.T. also saw a boy dressed in a Yoda costume in its film. So, technically Hollis-Jefferson isn’t wrong.

So either this was a mistake by Hollis-Jefferson, a lucky fluke. Or maybe he meant Yoda and got confused. Or Salacious Crumb, the devilish little Muppet who sits beside Jabba the Hutt and laughs.

Or perhaps this was an expertly crafted troll job. I’d like to believe deep down it was the latter.
