Dennis Schroder might be focusing too much energy on the basketball court and not enough on his personal business.

Schroder’s hookah bar/restaurant, DS17, named after the Atlanta Hawks point guard, managed to accrue 21 health violations during its latest inspection, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Somehow, the dining establishment went from a 96/A score in September to a 42/U. Not good.

The report is disgusting. DS17 was found to have “heavy grease and food debris on [the] walls and kitchen.” It’s miserable score also stems from a litter of fruit flies, sinks without soap or paper towels and *gags* “trash, pots, pans [and] garbage bags outside.”

Schroder and DS17 staff have until Nov. 12 to correct all the violations and will have to undergo another inspection.

It’s a good thing the German-born point guard signed a four-year, $70 million extension a couple weeks ago, because his business is going to need a complete cleaning and staff overhaul. It’s not unusual for restaurants to come away from inspections without perfect scores, but 21 health violations is not only putrid, it’s dangerous for staff and customers. Hopefully, the restaurant’s failings will inspire a new motto of cleanliness, otherwise DS17 is going to get shutdown.
