The most notable sequence in Game 2 of the series between the Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings came between Golden State’s Draymond Green and Sacramento’s Domantas Sabonis. Sabonis, on the ground, grabbed and held onto Green’s foot. Green responded by stomping Sabonis.

Green was ejected from the game, receiving a Flagrant 2. Sabonis was hurt in the exchange.

On Tuesday night, the Warriors and the rest of the NBA got the news that Green would be suspended for Game 3 on Thursday. While the Kings didn’t get good news on Sabonis, it was far better.

Marc J. Spears of ESPN tweeted that Sabonis is questionable for Game 3.

“Kings say center Domantas Sabonis has a sternum contusion and is listed as questionable for Thursday’s game versus the Warriors,” Spears said.

Sabonis has been a big part of Sacramento’s early success in the series.

He had a relatively quiet scoring night in Game 1, shooting 5-for-17 from the field and scoring only 12 points. But he hauled in 16 rebounds and also notched three steals.

In Game 2, he was 8-for-12 from both the field and free-throw line, scoring 24 points. Sabonis also hauled in nine rebounds and dished out four assists.

Leading 2-0 in the series, the Kings can be somewhat careful with Sabonis. But he’s a big part of Sacramento’s attack on both ends of the floor. So, if he is forced to miss time, his presence (or lack thereof) will be noticed.
