While Steph was taking the crown that’s rightfully his, other stars around the league were entering health and safety protocols.
James Harden was the first big name of the night:

That meant the Nets were down to 8 players:
Brooklyn has listed Durant as available for tonight.
They have 8 players available vs. Toronto:
P. Mills
C. Thomas
K. Durant
B. Griffin
N. Claxton
D. Sharpe
D. Duke
K. Edwards https://t.co/fN4EK3rkdo— Bobby Marks (@BobbyMarks42) December 14, 2021
They’re still actually playing (and currently beating) the Raptors tonight, despite being down to a skeleton crew.
Later in the evening, word came that Giannis Antetokounmpo will miss tomorrow’s game after also entering the protocol:
Giannis Antetokounmpo is listed as OUT against the Pacers tomorrow in health and safety protocols.

So, this is not a good trend at all. The NBA this week postponed the first games of the season, and given the way things are trending, it feels like at a minimum more are going to follow. And at a maximum, well, let’s not think about that yet.
