Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler is known for his different personality both on and off the court. This week, Butler broke the internet after pictures showed off his new hairstyle.

After originally sporting cornrow braids, Butler (seen above during a May playoff game) underwent a massive hair transformation. That new style featured long dreadlocks with some lighter coloring at the ends. The first one to post Butler’s new hairstyle was NBA shooting guru Chris Brickley, who posted this photo during a workout they had at a gym in Long Island.

Butler’s new hairstyle had fans baffled across social media.

As fans note, it appears Butler has gotten hair extensions. Many pointed out out his hairstyle was a lot shorter prior to his new dreadlocks.

Whether the six-time All-Star is keeping his new hairstyle next season remains to be seen, but Butler’s main goal is to get the Heat back to the NBA Finals.

Butler led Miami to the Eastern Conference Finals last season. He averaged 27.4 points, 7.4 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 2.1 steals per game in the postseason. Butler, who will be 33 in September, is going into his 13th NBA season.
