As the Boston Celtics were defeating the Miami Heat Wednesday night, Joel Embiid had a bit of fun at the expense of NBA fans on Twitter. As the game was happening, the Philadelphia 76ers star just casually tweeted “Miami needs another Star.”

Just letting a line like that dangle out there on social media is going to get some attention. As his nickname suggests, some felt Embiid was trolling. Others felt Embiid may have been putting it out there that he’s a star and maybe he’d be a great fit in Miami while everybody else brought the popcorn.

I won’t say Embiid will spend his entire career in Philadelphia but I wouldn’t think the guy who has trusted the process the most out of anybody would decide he wanted to leave now. And if he did, he probably wouldn’t go about with that by taking it to social media. Anyway, after about 20 minutes, Embiid posted a follow-up, seemingly toward the people who were taking him seriously.

Troel on!
